Over a period of nearly ten months, since March 2024, 23 members of seven families were murdered in the northern city of Konibodom, leaving residents in fear. Recently, the authorities announced the arrest of four suspects.

This marks the second time officials have commented on the serial murders in Konibodom.  Earlier, First Deputy Interior Minister Abdurakhmon Alamshozoda had described the incidents as “ordinary murders.” However, following this statement, two more attacks occurred, resulting in the deaths of 10 members from three families.

The attacks

December 8–9: Six members of a family, including four children, were killed in Shurobqala village.

December 15–16: Four members of two families were murdered in Hisorak village.

On December 21, 2024, the Prosecutor-General’s Office announced that the “Konibodom murders have been solved,” and suspects had been arrested.
