8-Year-Old Boy Memorizes Entire Quran in Record 8 Months

In a remarkable achievement, eight-year-old Mohammad Omar Faruk from Lakshmipur, Bangladesh, has memorized the entire Quran in just eight months—a task that typically takes two to three years.

“I’m happy to have memorised the Quran. I want to be an Islamic scholar when I grow up,” said the young student, who is enrolled at Alexander Darul Quran Islamia Madrasa in Ramgati Upazila, Somoy News reported.

Faruk’s teachers describe him as a dedicated and hardworking student who began his Quranic studies in September last year. His exceptional devotion set him apart from his peers, as he often spent afternoons reciting the Quran rather than playing.

“It’s a special grace of Allah. Learning the whole Quran by heart within such a short time is no small feat,” said Maulana Shahadat Hossain Jamil, the madrasa’s director.

“Faruk has brought glory to himself and our madrasa.”

Extraordinary

The Qur’an is a revelation from God, the creator of the worlds, so He is the original author.

There is only one Qur’an which is in Arabic and many translations of the Qur’an in several languages.

There could be multiple translations by different authors in the same language such as English.

Memorizing the Holy Qur’an is one of the most important ways to preserve Allah’s message.

The others are to publish and distribute the book, or the text on the Internet and to recite the parts that one knows to other people.

Faruk’s extraordinary accomplishment is a testament to his unwavering determination and the guidance of his teachers, bringing pride to his community and inspiring others.
