In another first, the retailer will enter the gaming space through a partnership with Activision that inserts a bespoke Boots Christmas-themed game within the games Candy Crush, Bubble Witch Saga, and Farm Hero Saga. For Boots’ target audiences, including both women and men, “gaming is part of their life,” Markey said.
“There’s this stereotypical image of gaming being for teenagers, but that’s not the case,” he added. “If we want to reach audiences in a new way, gaming is the next logical extension.”
The Christmas campaign will run for seven weeks across TV, radio, cinema, print, online, and social media including Reddit, Pinterest, YouTube, and Snapchat.
Agency VML/The Pharm created the campaign, and the film was directed by Dave Meyers through production company Radical.
