Carol Vorderman branded ‘deluded’ as she slams Tories in bizarre New Year’s rant | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV
Carol Vorderman has made no secret of her distaste for the Tories – but last night, her anti-Conservative rant led to her being branded a “waste of space”.
Sharing a photo of herself with newly retouched hair which some fans declared made her a dead ringer for Mariah Carey, she revealed her manifesto for 2025. “HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. 2024 we brought the Oldest political party in the world, the Conservative Party, to its worst result of all time…..Booooommmmmmm. We did that TOGETHER with tactical voting,” she wrote.
“Now the far right is on their pathetic, racist and hate fuelled march. So 2025 we stand up to them all….” she continued. “Our political system is corrupted….and guess what WE CAN FIGHT IT ALL TOGETHER.”
She urged fans to make it their “best new year’s resolution” to register to vote online. Meanwhile, although she’d previously been a vocal supporter of Keir Starmer and the Labour Party, she warned that she was keeping an eye on them.
“Plans are brewing up a storm for if Labour continues not to step up to equality inc a wealth tax and far far more protection of women,” Carol stated. “Here’s to a proper and more equal Britain…..as it used to be but even better than before.”
“First rule is…BELIEVE IT. Here’s to us all NEVER giving in!”
However, followers were sceptical, with one insisting: “Well, it looks like it won’t be a Happy New Year under the Labour Party as they look to be just as bad if not worse than the Conservatives were.
“And it seems like most people who voted for them wish they hadn’t, so put that in your pipe and smoke it Carol.” Another agreed: “Really used to like you but you are a complete waste of space.”
A third chimed in: “Love Carol but you’re deluded to think under this Party with that Starmer in charge that UK will be anything but awful.”
His party policies on criminal justice, the inheritance tax facing farmers and the decision to end Winter Fuel allowances for millions of pensioners are among the reasons he’s inspired such rage in 2024.
However, some were a little more positive in their outlook about Starmer, who has been voted Britain’s most unpopular Prime Minister ever after a mere few months in office.
“Shame Starmer is such a robot and has done some very upsetting things to older women, but let’s hope he calms down on the heartless tough guy act and eventually is able to turn our country around into a place we can all be proud to live in again,” one cautiously optimistic follower wrote on Carol’s page.
Another supporter of the former Countdown star wrote: “Thank you so much Carol for putting the truth out there. You stuck your neck out & united us. Will love you forever for it.”
