Donald Trump Declares Victory in the 2024 Presidential Race

Former President Donald Trump declared victory in the 2024 presidential race in the early morning hours on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Trump took the stage at 2:24 a.m. ET and addressed the crowd gathered at his campaign headquarters in Florida.

At the time of his speech, only Fox News and NewsNation had called the presidential race for Trump. His Electoral College tally officially stood at 266 votes having been projected by most of the networks as the winner of Pennsylvania.

“This is a movement like no one has every seen before,” Trump said. “Frankly, I believe this is the greatest movement of all time. Now it’s going to reach a new level of importance, because we’re going to help our country heal.”

While Vice President Kamala Harris has not conceded the race, her path to victory depended heavily on winning Pennsylvania and the other “Blue Wall” states, including Wisconsin and Michigan. In his speech, Trump suggested that he would win both of those races as well, giving him 315 Electoral College votes along with the popular vote.

Trump was joined onstage by his children—including Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Tiffany Trump—as well as his running mate J.D. Vance. “I think we just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America,” Vance said. “And we’re going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history under Donald Trump’s leadership.”

Trump also thanked his campaign managers as well as prominent supporters like Elon Musk and Dana White and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. who he said would “make America healthy again.”

Harris is expected to address her supporters and the nation on Wednesday as election results in the remaining states are still being counted.

“It’s time to put the divisions of the past four years behind us,” Trump said at the conclusion of his speech. “It’s time to unite… success will bring us together. I’ve seen that.”
