Fox News Leads, but CNN Enjoys a Great Week
When looking at these networks’ performance during the same period a year ago (the week of Jan. 1):
- During primetime, Fox News was up by +5% in total viewers and +21% in the A25-54 demo. During total day, the network also saw gains of +18% in total viewers and +33% in the demo.
- MSNBC was down by -49% in total viewers and -51% in the demo. During total day, the network was down -42% in total viewers and -40% in the demo.
- CNN fell by -4% in total viewers and grew by +18% in the demo during primetime. Across total day, CNN was down by -14% in total viewers and -4% in the demo.
PROGRAMMING:
Fox News took 14 out of the 15 spots of the most-watched cable news shows of the week among total viewers, with The Five (2.923 million viewers at 5 p.m. ET) remaining on top. MSNBC’s Deadline: White House with Nicole Wallace (749,000 viewers at 5 p.m. ET) finished in the 15th spot with 749,000 viewers.
The Five (305,000 viewers at 5 p.m. ET) was also the top show in the A25-54 demo, with the network occupying all 15 spots on that chart.
