Here are Some Stories While We’re Away

Happy winter break to all who celebrate! Whatever your holiday is, TVSpy hopes it’s the best ever. Personally, we celebrate Festivus. We’ll be off Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

In the spirit of the holiday, we give you a multitude of stories from around the country to keep you informed about the good: a Grand Rapids, Michigan anchor giving up her kidney to help a viewer. The bad: a Nashville reporter getting hate for a report. And the ugly: a man who allegedly attacked a Colorado reporter after yelling about his love of Trump heads to court.

Here’s the stuff:

  • Former WSB anchor rescued after fall while hiking. Carol Sbarge was an anchor and reporter for 29 years at the Atlanta station. “So somehow, as I was kind of walking on the trail, my foot hit a rock. And before I knew it, I just went tumbling down this ravine,” she said. Click here for more.
  • From Mike McGuff in Houston: Jonathan Thomas is leaving his weekend sports anchor role with KXAN Austin.
  • Donovan Long is the new morning news anchor at WITI, filling the anchor chair left vacant when Kim Murphy was promoted from the morning show to co-anchor the Milwaukee Fox affiliate’s 4, 6 and 9 p.m. newscasts. Click here for more.
  • Right-wingers online are coming for Nashville reporter chief investigative reporter Phil Williams after he criticized another Tennessee-based outlet’s op-ed about how the city’s political influence is fading as the rest of the state is becoming more red. Click here for more.
  • From Rodney Ho in Atlanta: Christopher “Crash” Clark is leaving 11Alive after 11 years as a traffic reporter at the NBC affiliate in Atlanta.
  • The man who allegedly attacked a KJCT/KCCO reporter, is still behind bars as of Monday. In a new development today, court officials stated that Patrick Egan’s bail has been set at $20,000. He will appear in court on January 2, 2025. Click here for more.
