How C2 Montréal CEO Anick Beaulieu Got Hooked on Global Commerce

“From a very young age, I was involved in international commerce, and that’s always been a passion of mine,” Anick Beaulieu told ADWEEK for video series Resume Rewind, sponsored by entertainment wiki hosting service Fandom.

In January 2023, that passion came to fruition, when Beaulieu became CEO of C2 Montréal, a nonprofit that hosts an annual three-day international conference to stimulate the economy in Quebec.

Beaulieu said her first job was babysitting her twin siblings who are five years younger, but her first paid job was making sandwiches in an Italian sandwich shop. “I probably was really bad for margins because I put way too much stuff in them, so people were always coming back asking for me to make their sandwiches.”

She went on to work in her family real estate business for about five years, where she was responsible for sales and marketing, and, since the company was a developer that sold mostly to Asians and Europeans, that sparked her interest in international commerce.

Beaulieu was a longtime competitive skier, and she credits competitive sports with shaping “a lot of the learnings that you need to go through as a professional.”
