Prince Harry, Meghan Markle to fight deportation attempts by Trump | World News
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are resolute about staying in their California residence and are ready to contest any attempts at deportation battle with US-elect President Donald Trump.
Sources indicate that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have established strong roots in California and intend to maintain their residence there, regardless of potential expulsion threats from the United States, Daily Express reported.
“There are no plans [for the Sussexes] to move from the US,” one source stated.
Another source confirmed: “Harry and Meghan feel at home in California, and they won’t be leaving there without a fight.
“They have a very good legal team, and they have a lot of support behind them to ensure that they will be able to remain in the United States.”
At present, Prince Harry, 40, faces legal scrutiny regarding his US immigration status.
His admissions of previous drug use in his autobiography, Spare, including cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms, could potentially affect his visa status.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative organisation, has requested access to Harry’s visa documentation, suggesting his previous drug use should have prevented his entry to the US.
Although a recent judicial decision maintains the confidentiality of Harry’s visa application, this situation could alter under Donald Trump’s administration.
The president-elect, aged 78, indicated earlier this year that he might consider Harry’s deportation due to visa-related concerns.
“I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own,” Trump declared at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February.
Sources indicate Trump’s recent victory has caused concern for the Sussexes, given his previous statements about removing Harry from America.
“Harry and Meghan are not fazed by the comments Trump made because they believe they have done everything correctly,” a source revealed.
“Meghan is a US citizen, and Archie has just started a new school, so to leave the place they call home isn’t even an option.”
Recent information indicates that despite their contentment in California, the couple has acquired a £3.6 million villa in Portugal, situated near Princess Eugenie’s summer residence.
