Watch the First Trailer for Brian Williams’ Election Night Special
Brian Williams has a date with Amazon on Election Night. The former NBC News anchor is headlining the company’s first foray into the TV news space—a live special that will stream globally on Prime Video and will be free to watch for all Amazon customers.
With less than two weeks to go until America goes to the polls, the streamer has released the first trailer for Election Night Live with Brian Williams.
“The collective voice of the American people is not quiet,” Williams says at the top of the minute-long clip. “In fact, it’s gloriously loud. And on Election Night, those voices rise.”

Filled with images of contemporary Americana, the trailer also briefly outlines how Williams and his team—including producer/director Glenn Weiss, producer Ricky Kirshner, and executive producer/showrunner Jonathan Wald—plan to approach the streaming special, which goes live at 5 p.m. ET on Nov. 5.
“Live from every corner of our country, we’re here to provide clarity and deliver what you need to know, when you need to know it,” Williams says. In practice, that means that he’ll be drawing on data from news sources and special guests as results roll in. According to Variety’s Brian Steinberg, the special will use Associated Press reporting as a primary source.
This will be the first time that Williams has sat in an anchor’s chair since 2021, when he stepped down from hosting MSNBC’s The 11th Hour. Amazon has not committed to future Williams-fronted news specials beyond the election night program. That may change should enough viewers give the special their own vote of confidence.
